Living Our Vision: Building the Future of Factory Automation Together

When I moved from the US to Germany in 2019, it wasn’t just a career change. It was a decision to help BizLink pursue innovation in a new way, one that connects people, technology, and ideas across borders.

At that time, our robotics business was known primarily for cables and dresspacks. These products remain a vital part of what we do, but we saw that our customers were facing far greater challenges.

Factories were becoming more complex. Workforce expertise was shifting as experienced technicians retired and new employees entered the industry. And expectations for uptime, quality, and performance were rising across every level of production.

We realized that simply providing great products would no longer be enough. To truly serve our customers, we needed to play a bigger role: reducing downtime, improving reliability, and strengthening the skills of the people who keep factories running.

Building the Vision

In 2020, we put this belief into words by defining a clear Vision Statement for our Robotic Solutions business unit, a statement that continues to guide our transformation:

We believe that factory automation is fundamental to perfect production. We believe that both innovative, intelligent solutions and empowered people are the key. In this journey, it is our role to be the pioneers.

This vision became more than just a statement. It became a foundation for how we invest, how we innovate, and how we collaborate.

This belief echoes BizLink’s purpose, Where Possibilities Connect, reminding us that progress comes from uniting technology, people, and ideas.

Changing How We Think

Achieving this vision has required more than new ideas. It has meant listening closely to our customers, supporting our teams, and partnering across BizLink to tackle challenges together.

To support this, we built a global innovation approach that helps us move faster, connect expertise across BizLink, and ensure every innovation addresses real customer problems.

Our progress shows how these changes are taking shape, from AI-powered solutions that prevent downtime, to new ways of strengthening workforce skills, to collaborations that expand how we support our customers.

Changing What We Do

Since 2020, our Vision Statement has guided how we think about innovation. It reminds us that perfect production depends not only on advanced technology but on the people and teams who keep factories running every day.

You can see that progress in many of the steps we’ve taken since then. Some have focused on empowering people. Others on applying AI or strengthening collaboration across BizLink. They all share the same principle: start with the real challenges our customers face and build solutions that make a difference in their daily work.

Empowering People to Keep Pace with Automation

Technology only works when people are ready to use it. That’s why training has always been part of our DNA.

BizLink Online Training (BOT) extends our 25 years of instructor-led training into a digital platform that makes learning available when and where it’s needed.

SMARTT Cells give teams a hands-on environment to practice and problem-solve. Together, BizLink Online Training and SMARTT Cells ensure skills grow alongside technology.

Helping Maintenance Stay Ahead of Problems

Maintenance has often meant firefighting. Unexpected failures bring stress, downtime, and cost.

With careDP, we help maintenance teams shift from reacting to anticipating. It’s a clear example of how intelligent solutions and empowered people enable perfect production. By monitoring dresspack health and predicting failures, careDP gives teams the confidence to plan ahead and reduce unplanned downtime.

Partnering Across BizLink to Solve Complex Challenges

Some industries require specialized expertise.

When customers in pharma and semiconductors needed clean-room compliant systems, we partnered with our sister unit Elocab, known for precision-engineered cables and assemblies.

Together, we created a clean-room dresspack that meets strict standards, showing how BizLink can unite strengths across the company to serve highly demanding environments.

Connecting People, Machines, and Information

Downtime isn’t only about broken parts. Sometimes it’s about missing information.

BOMScanner addresses this by giving maintenance teams instant access to BOM details, quote requests, and service scheduling by simply scanning a QR code with their phone.

BOMScanner represents a practical step toward more connected factories. It’s an early step in how we’re connecting people, machines, and information more effectively.

Our Ongoing Journey

The examples I’ve shared are only part of our story. Every new idea, project, and collaboration continues to shape how we live our Vision.

What matters most is that we keep listening, learning, and improving, together across teams, countries, and disciplines.

The factory of the future will not be defined by technology alone. It will be defined by the people who use it, maintain it, and make it better every day.

That belief continues to guide us as we look ahead toward new challenges, new partnerships, and new opportunities to serve our customers better, and it’s what makes me grateful for the decision I made to come here.

As factories evolve, so must we, by living our Vision each day and helping those we serve build the future of manufacturing together.
