Secondary welding cables are used in the industry for robot and manual welding guns. Secondary welding cables are also used as ground cables for stationary guns and for the power supply in mechanical engineering. Specially stranded copper wires and crimped eyelets give them a high degree of flexibility. Further features of secondary welding cables are good heat dissipation, which is achieved by a perforated inner sheath, and effective cooling. A distinction is made between water-cooled secondary cables and kickless cables: Both separate transformers are used for spot welding applications. This transports the current from the source (transformer) to the tool (welding gun).
