Gellainville, France, 27 November, 2025 - BizLink Robotic Solutions France celebrates 40 years of history this year - not simply to mark a milestone, but to reflect on four decades of industrial evolution, technological breakthroughs, and continuous transformation. Founded in 1984 as C.I.A. - Composants Industriels Automobiles, the company has grown from a local cable specialist into one of Europe’s most advanced centers for robotic integration, cable management systems, and medical robotics solutions.

Over the past four decades, the company has undergone multiple phases of reinvention: expanding internationally, pioneering dresspack technologies, entering the medical robotics sector, and ultimately joining BizLink in 2022 - further accelerating its global reach and innovation capabilities.

A History of Continuous Reinvention

  • 1984–1990: A Small Beginning with Big Ambitions

Founded by Régis Julien, C.I.A. started as a three-person business delivering secondary welding cables to Renault, soon winning over Peugeot/Citroën as key partners. By 1988, at Renault’s request, the company opened a first international subsidiary in Spain - a significant early step toward global expansion.

  • 1991–2000: Innovation That Redefined Cable Management

The 1990s marked a major transformation. An internal polyurethane extrusion line — first intended to improve cable durability — led to the development of CIA’s first robotic dresspack in 1992. The dresspack delivered unprecedented performance at PSA Poissy, lasting ten months instead of the industry-standard three weeks.
This innovation opened doors in North America, Japan, and across Europe, and CIA began producing its own cables in-house.

  • 2001–2009: Integration Into LEONI and Strategic Diversification

LEONI acquired CIA in 2001, strengthening its industrial base. New ventures such as ROBOKEEP (CIMLEC joint venture) and the establishment of a robot programming department broadened the company’s expertise. In June 2004, Claude Burlot transitioned from his role as Technical and Sales Director to become Managing Director, further strengthening the company’s leadership during this period of expansion. The 2009 crisis prompted a strategic reset: CIA re-internalized commissioning activities and laid the foundation for future multi-disciplinary robotics capabilities.

  • 2010–2016: Moving into Robotics and Healthcare Technology

In 2010, CIA took on a major commissioning challenge for 600 FANUC robots — a restructuring milestone that reshaped the company. A year later, the arrival of young robotics engineers led to the beginning of a healthcare robotics program. The ORION patient positioning robot, launched in 2012 and first delivered in 2015, would become a flagship product and a global reference in proton therapy.

  • 2017–2025: Global Recognition, Breakthrough Delivery Volumes, and the BizLink Era

The first ORION-treated patient in Miami in 2017 marked international clinical success. By 2019, the company reached a record 1,500+ robot commissionings and began development of the PULSAR lightweight robot.
With the 2022 acquisition by BizLink, the company gained new international momentum. In 2023 and 2024, a record 30 and 29 ORION systems were delivered worldwide - underscoring its leadership in medical robotics. In 2025, BizLink Robotic Solutions France launched a major expansion of its Gellainville site and started work on one of the most ambitious automotive projects in its history. That same year, Patrick Chouzenoux got appointed as Managing Director for the industrial business, while Claude Burlot focused his leadership on further strengthening the medical robotics division.

Looking Ahead: Scaling for the Next Industrial Transformation

As part of the BizLink Group, BizLink Robotic Solutions France is preparing for the next decade by:

  • Expanding its Gellainville facilities to support rising demand in industrial and medical robotics.

  • Strengthening R&D capabilities in dresspacks, cable management, and advanced automation.

  • Investing in next-generation medical robotics, building upon the global success of ORION.

  • Supporting global OEMs with large-scale commissioning capacities and high-performance cable systems.

These developments position the French site as a strategic hub within BizLink’s global Robotic Solutions Business Unit.

“Marking 40 years is about honoring a unique industrial journey - from a small French workshop to an internationally recognized robotics center,” says Patrick Chouzenoux, Managing Director of BizLink Robotic Solutions France. “We look to the future with the ambition to shape the next generation of industrial and medical robotics, supported by our exceptional teams and the global strength of the BizLink Group.”
