Colour coding for specific applications
BizLink has coded its AS-Interface cables with various jacket colours so that they can be quickly identified and assigned to certain applications:
- Data is communicated between all connected devices via the yellow cable. At the same time, 24V power supply is provided via this cable.
- The black cable supplies 24V auxiliary power. It is used to supply higher loads, for example actuators or larger sensors that require an external power source.
- If several AS-Interface circuits are used in machinery or equipment, the red cable helps to differentiate between these circuits. Particularly important or safety-critical signal circuits are often identified with the red cable.
- The grey AS-Interface cable is specified for 48V. It serves reliable data communication and power supply across longer transmission paths and is used above all in conveyor equipment.
